Six demand signals shaping Azerbaijan's next mining cycle.
Azerbaijan's mining opportunity is a chain of exploration, extraction, processing, infrastructure and operating needs—not a single headline.
Caspian Mining Expo turns this market context into qualified supplier, project and partnership conversations.

Azerbaijan is expanding beyond a market defined only by oil and natural gas, building its capacity to produce and process metal ores, gold, silver, copper and other mineral resources.
New investment in mining and metallurgy, modernization of existing facilities and the development of new deposits are making Azerbaijan an increasingly important regional mining investment market.

Growth is not limited to discovering new reserves; it is also creating opportunities in ore processing, beneficiation, infrastructure, energy, automation and mining technology.
In 2026, the Demirli Ore Processing Complex in Aghdara became the first mining industry project launched in Azerbaijan's liberated territories. It includes a copper flotation plant, tailings storage, power infrastructure and mining areas.

Alongside gold and silver, strategic metals such as copper and iron ore are becoming increasingly important on Azerbaijan's mining agenda. AzerGold's portfolio includes Chovdar, Agyokhush, Marah, Filizchay, Mazimchay and the Dashkasan iron ore site.
Extensive geological research and drilling have been under way at the Soyudlu (Zod) gold deposit in Kalbajar since 2025. In 2026, AzerGold announced a recoverable remaining reserve of 1.03 million ounces under the international JORC standard.

Incentive mechanisms designed to improve Azerbaijan's investment environment are an important support for the mining sector. Projects based on metal ores and other local raw materials are among the areas covered by the country's strategic investment incentives, currently extending to 1 January 2029.
That makes 2027 a critical period for companies seeking not only to follow current projects, but to build new supplier relationships, transfer technology, develop local partnerships and enter the regional market.
